Summary
What does this car say about you?
You were very caring owner but I would like more parts replaced or repaired.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most of my friends like the look of Laguna, impressed by power but think it is not reliable.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I like driving it but scared of unexpected breakdowns. If I will buy it, only with breakdown cover.
What are you likely to buy next?
Mercedes E320CDI estate S210 as it seems more "long lasting" and "quality" vehicle despite corrosion problem.

No

Did you get a good deal and why?
I was disappointed. Dealer sold me with 10 days old MOT but with following main faults: leaking brake servo - plenty of air in the system, only one working headlight, broken driver`s mirror, engine management light on...
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Powerful and economical diesel, 12 year anti- rust warranty, cheap insurance, many gadgets, comfort, space.
What was the dealer like?
Ahmad Bilal in Ilford. Seems he has experience in selling the cars in such condition.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Good road holding due to rigid body and 17 inch alloys, comfortable ride. On gravel roads you will hear how cheap are the interior materials. Very economical, on the motorways at 65mph, I could achieve up to 54mpg. Lots of power and torque, superb uphill acceleration. Very good seats - after 1700 mile journey I still felt fine.
What's it like to park?
Pretty easy for car of this size. Much easier than 2002 Mondeo saloon due to better visibility.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
After fixing initial faults, within 5000 miles, I found coolant leak exp. tank, injector seal leak - price for injector bolts is from £56 for one cylinder! (is this Bentley?), 2 of 4 coil springs broke, after German motorway driving engine valve shaft broke leaving me with about 40horsepower and black smoke, headlight washers kept getting out of the bumper and spraying over the bonnet, to change fog light bulb need to remove loads of trims, rusted and blocked c tailgate wiper motor, power window cable snapped, water got into tailgate and disconnected an electric lock, to check gearbox oil level you need to buy special Renault tool. Bodywork and under body is spot on - absolutely no rust, engine used no oil, minor electric faults.
What's most practical about your car?
Good interior space, opening window in the tailgate, excellent motorway cruiser (if engine does not fail), excellent xenon headlights, very good seats.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Powerful diesel engine (when working well) and 6 speed manual gearbox.
