What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 33 - 51 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Low insurance groups, reasonable economy and a clean-burning diesel keeps costs low. It’s comparatively cheap to buy too, and residual values should be better than those of the hatchback.
Megane performs quite well on the eco front. With an average of 181 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are quite low for a small family cabriolet. The range is not particularly economical, averaging 38 mpg.
We wouldn’t be surprised if it suffered from some of the electrical niggles that have occurred on the hatchback. That roof is pretty complex too and might be the source of some problems. Dealers are generally pretty used to dealing with issues however.
