I would not recommend this car to anyone. If you want an exciting coupé, look elsewhere.

Already bought a Cooper Diesel. A 1.6tdi runs rings around the Megane for performance, excitment and economy.

What's it like to drive?

Indecisive, lacklustre and disappointing. For a 2.0 litre coupé, it lacks that pointy drive and nippy acceleration you'd expect, especially from Renault, who like to ensure their coupés are an exciting package. The power steering is strangely weighted, which makes the car unpredictable at high speed or or when driven down tight country lanes. It feels artificial, like the simulated handling experience of an arcade game. The gearbox is ludicrous concoction. The ratios are far too short and lack any hair-raising power. The fact you can cruise in 6th at 30mph says it all. At 70-80mph, the engine is guzzling gas at nearly 3500rpm. It they had lengthened the ratios, motorway cruising would be far more economical.

What's it like to park?

Rear visibility is good, but the back end is long, so there maybe some embarrassing first attempts.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Roof leaks and door seals are not air tight, as at motorway speeds, you can hear the air forcing its way into the car.

What's most practical about your car?

Boot is a good size.

Traction control is useful.
