Summary
What does this car say about you?
It makes me look like I have more money than I actually do!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Impressive.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I might like to try the 2000cc but I wouldn't buy the 1600 again, mainly because of the overall lack of power (which may be due to its age, not sure) and lack of visibility.
What are you likely to buy next?
A hatchback car with the same size engine!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,800
When did you buy the car?
January 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Initially... I won the eBay auction at £3800 and they gave me a grand part ex as my car had damage underneath. Had a few probs after I'd bought it, namely an engine coil and the battery died(!) but ain't that just the way?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I have only ever owned 1100 cc engined cars and wanted something quick and a bit flashy. Found this amazing bargain on eBay and had to get it!
What was the dealer like?
Like a dealer... friendly enough but you always wonder if they're trying to pull a fast one on you.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Can be quick but I can't help feeling like the car is a little big for the size of its engine. Sticks to the road like glue - I can take sharp bends without having to brake.
What's it like to park?
Annoying - forget trying to reverse-park it, the spoiler makes for hopeless visibility and all-round visibility is pretty poor, even when going round sharp corners.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
One of the engine coils went within days of purchase, and the battery died a week or so later but the car was already nearly 5 years old and all electric so it was to be expected.
What's most practical about your car?
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The lumbar support of the seats - makes them very comfy. Also steering wheel-mounted audio controls are a good idea.
