Summary
What does this car say about you?
I don't like boring silver cars - it is bright blue.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I don't really care.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. I don't see the point in buying the same car again, paying the depreciation twice for no advantage. I keep a car until something better comes along.
What are you likely to buy next?
That's the difficult bit - its over 6 years old now with over 90,000 miles on the clock, and nothing better has come along.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£16,800
When did you buy the car?
March 2003
Did you get a good deal and why?
Average - brand new car, and not from stock (built to order), so no discount, but got a decent trade-in price for my previous car (Rover 220SDi)
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I fell for the styling and "toys" when I first saw the Mégane II at Goodwood, June 2002.
What was the dealer like?
Efficient during ordering process, then lost some efficiency, but regained it in time for delivery.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Does exactly what I ask, but with little feel. Performs well, will cruise all day with no complaints. Always has more in reserve.
What's it like to park?
Rear end difficult to judge initially, but soon got used to it.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Sunroof switch failed within weeks - replaced under warranty. Auto headlamp levelling has failed twice, once under warranty and once at 6 years old. Boot latch failed, making it impossible to lock the car. Handbrake lever failed, preventing application of handbrake. Driveshaft centre support bearing failed at 90,000 miles. Battery failed - not easy to replace (on Halford's "too difficult" list, takes about 15 minutes). Track rods replaced twice in 90,000 miles. One headlamp washer nozzle broke in cold weather.
What's most practical about your car?
Its just small enough to fit in our garage, and just big enough inside. If practicality was important I'd have bought a Scénic.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Xenon headlamps, keyless go and Panoramic sunroof. Unfortunately all cost extra.
