Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 34 - 37 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Comparing specifications the Renaultsport Megane is competitive with rivals, and offers reasonable fuel costs for a high-performance hatchback. Renaultsport models have a strong enthusiast following so depreciation should be slower than other Megane models.
CO2 emissions are 195g/km, which isn’t bad for a 250bhp car. Volkswagen’s 211bhp Golf GTI betters it at 170g/km, but the 225bhp Ford Focus ST and 260bhp Mazda3 MPS are at 226g/km.
Renault has committed to improving reliability and the performance of its customer service department. The Renaultsport Megane should be much better than Renaults of the recent past, but Parker’s remains cautious until cars have spent enough time on the roads to demonstrate improvements.
