Renault Megane Saloon (96-03) rivals
Overview
Megane offers a superb choice of models, with five body styles covering a broad spectrum of motoring needs – family hatchbacks and saloons, sporty coupes and desirable cabriolets. Then there’s the Scenic compact MPV, the first in its class (see separate listing in the People Carrier). No matter which Megane suits you, it will be comfortable, well built and nice to drive.
With large numbers about, used prices are very competitive. Revised models from 1999 benefit from punchier 16-valve engines and many detail improvements, while the latest ‘Collection’ badging has brought higher equipment levels.
