What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 30 - 54 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Good fuel economy – although the old 1.4e 8-valve engine is thirstier than the 1.6e; the latest direct-injection diesels are very economical; cheap insurance; long service intervals. Keenly priced with generous equipment levels; the best bargains are well maintained mid- to high-spec hatchbacks, you’ll pay less for Classic saloon models.
Renault isn’t renowned for its build quality and Megane is no exception. Owners have informed parkers.co.uk of minor niggles, usually cleared up under warranty, and more serious problems including faulty gearboxes, unreliable air-conditioning systems and defective electric windows.
