Summary
What does this car say about you?
It's always clean and tidy and driven with respect so I hopefully reflects the kind of person I am.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it & are impressed with the gadgets!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Would have another of these definately. Would have to be another Megane II Sports Tourer though, not too keen on the new Megane III.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something similar - perhaps another, newer one!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,400
When did you buy the car?
February 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Good deal, great price and car came with new MOT & 6 months tax. Service was appalling and I am still persuing the dealer with the intension of taking them to court, because the car needed work doing within 7 days of purchase. Once this was done the car was perfect.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a family car for Eurodisney this summer. Also have a dog so large boot is ideal. I've owned a Megane sports tourer before back in 2009, loved it and missed it so this was the main reason I bought another one!
What was the dealer like?
The dealer (Charles Good Motors - also known as BJC Cars - in Stockport, ran by Billy Cousins) was initially very helpful and friendly, found on Autotrader, typical salesperson I suppose. Good deal, and 3 month warranty. Once he found out it needed work doing he never answered his phone and then disappeared! Luckily I afforded the work myself and continue to search for him. Please don't buy from this dealer if you want good service. The only reason I have posted the dealers details is so that nobody goes through the same hell that I did. I am NOT slandering the company.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very comfortable, holds well, not much body roll which is good for kids & long journeys (no car sickness etc), quiet on the motorway and good visibility.
What's it like to park?
Easy to park - although it is a long car the good sized rear window and mirrors provide ample visibility for reversing.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
VVT Sprocket "Camshaft Dephaser Pulley" needed replacing with the timing belt. This is a known common fault with the 1.6VVT engines. Steering joints / arms were in bad condition and have been replaced - apparently another common Renault fault.
What's most practical about your car?
The large boot and amazing spec - full of gadgets.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Can't decide! Car came with electric folding mirrors, Panoramic Sunroof, Keyless entry & Start with Renault Card, auto lights & wipers. Rear integrated sun blinds are very useful for kids in the back watching DVDs / sleeping.
