Summary
What does this car say about you?
As much as you want it to say "suave & sophisticated", it really says "practical & sensible".
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone has been quite impressed with the car's quality, spec level & ride so far.
Would you buy this car again and why?
The car was chosen because of price, economy and performance, if the same criteria were applied, then I probably would buy another Renault Megane, but maybe one with a slightly higher specification (with reversing sensors & climate control). The standard spec of the Dynamique TomTom Energy Start/Stop is very good indeed, but I do miss a couple of features from previous cars.
What are you likely to buy next?
It's a few years away to think about make/model just yet. Though it will more than likely be something practical, but with a good specification, performance & fuel economy (probably another diesel estate).

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
March 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a good deal on a brand new, 14 plate car as it was not the restyled version, but the older 2013 model. Included in the deal was the additional Renault 4+ Servicing Package (to 48,000 miles), and also a "top up" servicing package from the Dealership to cover the vehicle up to 100,000 miles.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Got a good deal from Dealership, including additional servicing. Low emissions engine, with good fuel economy, but with more power than competitors.
What was the dealer like?
Informative and helpful. Not too pushy, and willing to discuss deals. Was able to test drive the 1.5 dCi 110 version.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The car feels good and solid to drive, everything works as it should and the engine has plenty of performance when required. Vibration through pedals can be off-putting while on the move and the view through the rear window/rear view mirror is not great (further hampered by placement of stickers in the rear window).
What's it like to park?
The car is quite easy to park, with good visibility all around, though I am missing the reversing sensors that my previous cars have had. Just have to get used to "old school" parking again!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
There were a couple of minor items that have been sorted out by the Dealership, a loose door trim seal, and 2 ill fitting panels (1 of which rattled annoyingly on the move). Not had any problems with them since. There have been no mechanical issues with the car.
What's most practical about your car?
The rear passenger space is far better than the Hatchback or Coupe versions, and the boot space is excellent, especially with the lower floor/lip.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Really like the Auto Lights facility, puddle lighting, Bluetooth as standard, the stop/start button, TomTom SatNav, low load lip on boot, rear passenger space.
