Renault Modus (2004 - 2012) 1.5 dCi Dynamique S (86bhp) 5d Owner Review

Bought this little Renault Modus as a stop-gap, but how I underestimated it. It has proven to be a little gem. I initially wanted a small van to transport my two dogs around but could find absolutely nothing in my limited price range that wasn't a complete heap. How some of the vans I looked at had managed to get a MOT was beyond belief. One even had holes in the rear floor floor that you could see the road through, but it came with a brand new MOT!!!!! I then came across the Renault Modus (not the Grand Version) that was a two owner car (but in the same family). It was showing 55,000 miles which was backed up with service history and all it's MOTs. Yes it wasn't perfect. It needed a new set of tyres and I had the brakes checked and replaced all the pads. It also underwent a service and an oil change. All this work and the purchase price it came in at under £1000. I've taken the back seats out which has given me a flat floor and with the near upright rear door it's become nigh-on a small estate car/van. It's low enough at the back for my dogs not to have to jump too high to get in. It's low rated insurance, £30 RFL, and extremely economical. What's not to like....
