What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 68 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Modus starts at a few thousand above the basic hatchback price level, but a discount should be forthcoming as sales had had a relatively slow start. They should also be cheap to insure and fuel consumption is good on petrol models and better on diesels.
The Modus is an environmentally friendly model and itβs the diesel models that have the lowest emissions β less than 129g/km of CO2 in some cases which makes then cheap to tax. Both 1.2-litre models are frugal β averaging 48mpg but the diesel manages an impressive 63mpg.
This is an area where Renault claims to have made improvements but there have been numerous recalls for the Modus since it was launched β the first coming just 12 months after it went on sale.
