What does this car say about you?

    ?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I know others who've had equally unreliable Renaults. Basically, it's a van with seats so far as I'm concerned.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Under no circumstances would I buy a Renault again. Although it's comfortable from a passenger viewpoint, it's too slow and unreliable to be serious family transport. Driven briskly, it drinks petrol too. I can't wait to get rid of it.

What are you likely to buy next?

An estate car - probably a Mondeo. I have a Mondeo at the moment which has covered 130,000 without any problems.

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

Performance is inadequate. 1.4 16v not up to the job, especially en famille. Frequent changing down and painfully slow off the mark. Driving distances is a chore. Handling is ok but rolling in corners takes a bit of getting used to.

    What's it like to park?

Good visibility, easy to judge width and length. Turning circle rather big.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Plenty!. 3 replacement ignition coils, poor starting cured by replacement capteur point, 2 replacement road springs, new power steering pulley, repeated problems with front brake callipers (they keep seizing and have needed freeing up three times)

What's most practical about your car?

Very spacious. Will carry virtually anything. Ideal for a big family + dog.
