Renault Scenic (2009 - 2016) 1.5 dCi Dynamique 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Had a mk2 scenic a couple of years ago and after a love hate relationship with an old bmw I needed to get a car that would be practical, reliable and cheap to run. I found a decent mk3 scenic locally and I’m so pleased with it. Does everything I wanted and much more. It’s the 1.5dci with 105bhp so not rapid but it’s not bad. Super frugal, low insurance and big inside. Very easy and comfortable drive, plenty of tech too. Mine is nearly 12 years old and still feels tight, smooth and responsive. Wouldn’t say it’s fast but it’s enough, the 6 speed box is great and the clutch and steering is light. All round visibility is great and the boot easily manages all the normal stuff, toys, coats, buggies, shopping and the mother-in-law. Keyless entry, keyless go and auto locking are nice touches, as is the rear window blinds, rear tables and the endless storage cupboards everywhere.
If you’re looking to buy one (especially one a few years old) I’d be wary of electrics as with many cars after a while you’ll find many electric components become temperamental or fail, such as windows, reverse sensors, temp sensors, radio, door locks etc.
How reliable do you find the car?
Had 2 warning messages on dash, one was to check parking sensors (found one faulty), and one for the key card battery low. Both cheap and easy fixes.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Bought as a work commuter, school runner, shopping fetcher. Bonuses are 5* safety rating, cruise control, lots of tech inside, comfy seats, room for 3 full car seats in the rear and a massive boot.About their car
