Rover 100 Hatchback 1.1i Kensington 3d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
£600 for 65k mile 9yr old motor is good.
Costs
Insurance very cheap! Parts alright, apart from fuel gauge sender!

On the road
Driving
The best car I've ever driven. Way better than my Mk4 Astra and my Dad's Focus (in my view) although needs an anti-roll bar...
Performance
Its a 60bhp 1.1i motor, 75-80 is about as best as it gets.

Living with it
Reliability
Starts every time, treat the engine like a 1.1i (don't thrash it) and it'll go on forever.
Image
Granny mobile, but who cares when it drives as it good as this? This is a car, NOT a badge.
Comfort
Those comically big seats (they are too big for the car) are really comfy…
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser aided by people's perception of a Metro, no one will steal it…
Service
Local dealer is a multi-franchise and is lousy on everything. Stick to independants.

Engine
K-Series engine has a bad name for head-gaskets but if you look after it and don't drive like a boy-racer, then it'll last forever.
Other
This car has fluidic suspension so keep an eye on it as it does sink down.
