Rover 100 Hatchback 1.1i Knightsbridge SE 3d (1996/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Good bargains out there and it's a fun car to have.
Costs
Cheap tax, insurance and on fuel. Can't really complain.
-
On the road
Driving
Very nippy but only until 55-60mph, then its all slow.
Performance
It's nippy and fun for a 1.1i, quicker than the Corsa or Saxo models by a long way, puts them to shame.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Never lets you down.
Image
I prefer them to Corsa or Saxo , they're not dull and they're cute. Cheap to run and fast enough to put boy racers in there Corsa 1.2's to shame.
Comfort
Basic models have poor seats, top models have nice ones; so go for top models.

Security and Service
Security
Get one with an alarm. You can break into the car with a spoon, buy a steering lock.
Service
Service it myself, parts are cheap if you don't go to Rover places. Go local car parts garages.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Very good.
Other
Very good car, just they rot too easily, so you need to keep an eye on it and sort it out early, before things mount up. Very rare to get through a MoT without failing once.
