Rover 200 Coupe 1.8 VVC 2d (1997/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Great value when compared to similar cars and reasonable insurance.
Costs
Fuel economy is good for the performance, relatively cheap to service if using independant garage (non-Rover).
-
On the road
Driving
Easy to drive. Secure road holding.
Performance
Quicker than most cars you'll meet, without being brash and hard to control.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Generally very reliable mechanically, but build quality is not the best.
Image
Smooth and sporty without being 'in-your-face'. Practically everyone I know likes the styling and say it looks like it should be worth a lot more than I paid! 200 front end is the only thing that lets it down slightly.
Comfort
Leather interior very comfortable and seats are supportive in both front and back. Back seat short on head and legroom, but if this is a concern you shouldn't be buying a coupe!

Security and Service
Security
Standard remote central locking, alarm and immobiliser are ok. But not the most secure car out there.
