Rover 200 Coupe 220 Turbo 2d (1994/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Great perfomance for very little money.
Costs
Cheap to run if you look after it, 25-35 mpg, insurance is silly.
-
On the road
Driving
Great for fast European motorways through to B roads.
Performance
A wolf in sheeps clothing, often mistaken for it"s 1.6 and 1.8 little brothers.

Living with it
Reliability
Nearly 200,000 miles and she's never let me down, keep well serviced.
Image
A bit old hat now but still holds the great coupe looks.
Comfort
Very comfy upfront, not a great people carrier, boot access poor.

Security and Service
Security
I locked my keys inside once, three seconds with a coat hanger and I was in! Standard alarm fine, but I recommend at least a CAT II.
Service
OK in the early days, but pointless to pay the extra after 100k.

Noisy head after high mileage (fixed for £200), replacement turbo gave it a new lease of life.

As the cars gets older, the stiffness goes, recommend a stutt brace!
