Rover 200 Hatchback 214 Si Cat 5d (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Don't really know - it was a hand-me-down.
Costs
Expensive to run; eats petrol like no tomorrow and parts cost hilarious.

On the road
Driving
Good road holding on windy roads. So heavy it won't shift in side winds. Ride so springy it's like a rollercoaster on bumpy roads. Without PAS, it doesn't half tone up your arms trying to park it.
Performance
Well, I enjoyed driving mine. Very noisy above 55mph, though.

Living with it
Reliability
More bother than any other car I've ever had, but to be fair to it, it could be the age of it when I got it.
Image
Bit of a Granny wagon. Used to get mistaken for a cop car in its youth (it's white).
Comfort
Nice for long distance drives. Seats do tend to slip out of position slightly over time, though.

Security and Service
Service
Not had dealings with Rover, however rang the dealership once and they were snotty as anything. Wouldn't buy from Rover until they sort out their current uncertainty.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Radiator went.
Other
Exhaust went in such a manner, it was only luck they could get it off without needing a new cat.
