Rover 200 Hatchback 216 GSi 5d (1990/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Couldn't ask for more. Very well-equipped for the price.
Costs
Parts not too pricey and very reliable.
-
On the road
Driving
Willing engine and good grip, body rolls slightly round tight corners but generally composed.
Performance
Get the engine passed 4000rpm and you'll surprise more than a few people.
-
Living with it
Reliability
The Honda mechanicals deserve their reputation, never fails to start. Gearbox did need rebuilding but I think the previous owner was less than gentle with it.
Image
It's over 10 years old, so you can't expect much. Does look good with the spoiler and alloys though.
Comfort
Excellent seats and driving position. Wind noise around door pillers can get irritating however.

Security and Service
Security
Never had it nicked, but I doubt it's up to modern standards. Get a steering wheel clamp if you're concerned.

Other
Rear suspension bushes always go at around 100k miles, £100 a side.
