Well, I bought mine from my daughter, who'd had it from new, for £600, which was what she had been offered by a local Citroen dealer against a new Saxo GTi. She'd had it regularly serviced and I had it at 80,000 miles.

Done 50,000 miles in it over 2 years. On average I get around 35mpg. Spent £350 last year getting it through the MOT, other than that just the usual tyres and brakes. Cheap exhaust systems as this is the non-cat version.

Handles beautifully on country roads and motorways. Nimble and capable, feedback very good.

    Performance

Pretty good, lovely Honda engine revs well, runs out of puff at around 120mph. Easy to fling around, predicatble handling means not many can keep up with me on the twisties.

So-so. A bit Granddad, but keeps you clear of the boy racers and most cops leave you alone.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Driver and passenger seats pretty good, adjustable for rake and lumbar support. Limited legroom in the back but no problem.

  • Security and Service

Not good, had an aftermarket system fitted. Locking nuts on the alloy wheels are a must!

    Service

Local Rover agent is very good.
