Servicing/running costs are minimal.

On the road
Driving
Good, solid feel to it. Power steering, low dash giving excellent visibility make it comfortable to drive long distances.
Performance
Diesels aren't racetrack material, but the turbo means that this car is not bad off the blocks and happily cruises at 80mph all day long and is good for 110mph if you floor it. (Not in England of course).

Living with it
Reliability
Peugeot 1.9 turbo diesel is a bit noisy by today's standards, but is superbly reliable and very economical. My 155,000 miler has returned an average 46mpg over the last 3 years and hasn't missed a beat.

Security and Service
Security
Immobilser, alarm and central locking are good (central locking mechanism is noisy though).
Service
Rover garage employed just out of school trainees on services. Car needed servicing to correct the botched servicing. Much easier to do it yourself.
