    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Brought new, but £4K under book price, as Rover were in trouble at the time. Must say though, the depreciation has still been fairly high even with the huge discount.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Hadn't incured any real costs until it has reached it's 5th birthday. Now I'm noticing a few problems starting.

    Driving

A decent drive, nothing special, but no grumbles.

    Performance

    Not bad.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

No real problems until the turn of the year. Then it was a flat battery and a boot problem, kept earthing the electrics.

For car that was designed in the mid-nineties, it is better than most cars, whatever their price. More than happy in that department.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very happy with the comfort factor. Has a great leather interior with everything positioned well. Can be a bit uncomfortable on very long journys, but aren't most cars?

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Immobiliser and alarm. You have to really shake it to set the alarm off, so good that it doesn't set off when the cat jumps on it or its a bit windy.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Awful service from Rover. When I bought it I had some rattles and Rover did not want to know.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Engine

A few replacements here and there.

    Other

The wires in the boot came loose and they were chopped through as the mechanism started sliding. This lead to the car earthing. According to the mechanic, most cars encounter boot problems during their life.
