Economy
Value
Quite expensive to buy in comparison to rivals, but worth the extra money.
Costs
Sevicing cheap and simple to do yourself with help from Haynes.
-
On the road
Driving
As a driver's car, it strikes a good balance between comfort and performance.
Performance
Even the 1.4 gives most hot hatches a run for their money!
-
Living with it
Reliability
Coming up for 80,000 miles and not a sigle fault, except head gasket failure early on, before I owned it.
Image
A class. Above Escorts, Astras, etc.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm/immobiliser as standard. My insurance company gave me a good discount because Rover 'supposedly' has a good security system!
Service
Helpful, but main dealers are quite expensive.

None whilst I have owned it, but the head gasket failed at 40,000 miles and got a reciept for £900 - ouch!
