Rover 200 Hatchback 214 Si 16V 5d (1997/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Get much more than you would expect for the price. Insurance is high for a first car, though.
Costs
Cheap to run and servicing is cheap due to a discount place that specialises in Rovers just down the road.

On the road
Driving
Excellent fun down all the B-roads. At times, feels like a heated Go-Kart.
Performance
Can you find a more powerful 1.4 (that isn't a turbo)? I think not. Beat any of my mates at the traffic lights.

Living with it
Reliability
Had one too many problems, starting from the head gasket going at 40mph!
Image
Looks surprisingly sporty, although the interior looks like it is from an Indian Takeaway.
Comfort
Only doesn't score 5 because it steams up too easily when raining. Very comforatable for long journeys, considering I am not a small person.

Security and Service
Security
Needs a volumetric alarm system. Been broken into without the alarm going off. It does have remote central locking and immobiliser, though.
Service
Not used. The other garage is much better.
