Driving position is comfortable and adjustable, with good visibility. Steering wheel is a good size and the pedals are well placed, with a clutch-foot rest. The style and layout of the switches hint at 400s age – they’re old fashioned and haphazardly placed compared to today’s cars.
Interior has aged better than some of its rivals of the time, however, some wood and chrome finishes can now look tired. Seat finishes are generally tasteful and the seats are comfortable for longer journeys. Front seat occupants are pampered with plenty of head and legroom, but cramped rear is not up to medium class standards; smooth ride compensates.
