Not rated by Euro NCAP. Driver airbags are standard, passenger ones are optional, but standard on higher spec models. ABS brakes are standard on all but the entry level models, while saloons have centre 3-point seat belt in the rear. Remote central locking plus an alarm and engine immobiliser are all standard fit items and offer an adequate level of protection.

There’s a big boot and the hatch opens high and wide, giving good access to the load area. Split/folding seats mean that it’s up to most day-to-day jobs. A few coin trays, seatback pockets and door bins inside and a reasonably-sized glovebox.
