Rover 400 Saloon 420 SD 4d (1996/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Bit on the pricey side to buy,
Costs
I've only had to put petrol in the tank.
-
On the road
Driving
One of the best cars I've driven - very fast!
Performance
Acceleration really good.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Starter motor splines in the engine gone (rather than in the starter motor) so £500+ to spend. As the car's is good, I'm quite happy to spend it, even if the car's getting old.
Image
I've got alloy wheels and low profile tyres, so I look a bit a boy racer in it!
Comfort
Driver's seat is often so not good on long journeys.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser fitted so it's secure.
Service
All parts have to be ordered - avoid main dealers for servicing - back street garages familiar with the car as it's quite common.
