Scored a very unimpressive one and a half stars out of four in the Euro NCAP tests. It does get rear centre three-point safety belts and driver airbags across the range though, while passenger airbags and ABS brakes are also offered. Remote locking, engine immobiliser and alarms are all standard fit. However lack of deadlocks give away this model’s low security Japanese origins.

600 has a large, but shallow boot. It’s not especially to access, but will easily take a few suitcases. In the cabin there’s a large glovebox and a few oddment areas, but nothing special.
