Rover 75 Saloon 1.8 Classic SE 4d (2000/W) Owner Review

Value
Fantastic value for money. Can be picked up used for the same price as a new Nissan Micra.
Costs
Servicing is not at all bad for a big car, fuel economy is about 36 mpg.

On the road
Driving
Best car I have driven. A friend tells me it is nicer than his Jag XJ6.
Performance
Bigger engines offer more speed, but why sacrifice the fuel economy for just a few mph?

Living with it
Reliability
Never let me down.
Image
People say it is pipe and slippers, but I disagree. The car attracts admiring glances from young and old alike. It looks like a Jaguar, and has more 'soul' about it than a BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Definitely has the X Factor.
Comfort
Eats away the miles. One of the most comfortable cars you can ride in.

Security and Service
Security
No volumetric alarm, but otherwise excellent.
Service
First dealer used was expensive and gave poor service. This appears to be the norm for Rover dealers. However, there is a local garage which is a servicing agent, and they are excellent. (H Ballard of Welshpool).
