Summary
What does this car say about you?
Mature, got an eye for a bargain, goes for quality and ability over fashion
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
When they heard I had a rover they thought I was daft. But when they see it they love it, when they see inside, sit inside and go for a drive they fall in love with it
Would you buy this car again and why?
100% yes, if I could find one in such good condition and in top end spec with. Might go for a diesel auto next time, because fuel costs a fortune and I'd love an auto
What are you likely to buy next?
If I had the money, a 7 series. Otherwise another one of these of a V6 Signum Elite

No
What price did you pay?
£2,000

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Luxury car for tiny money

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Smooth, don't even notice speed bumps or potholes, effortless turbine like power, really quiet apart from the silky V6 when at high revs, handles well even if it is no BMW through the corners, so comfortable you could be in a 7 series
What's it like to park?
It needs the reversing sensors, high boot, small back screen, big c pillars means it is a bugger to reverse into a car parking space. Hard to judge the corners too...but since it has no rubbing strips on the doors and is prone to dings from other car doors I always park away from other cars!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It is an amazing car- 10 years old when I bought it with 55k miles. I have had to have 2 rear springs and a clutch slave cylinder fixed, sometimes the central locking remote control is a little slow, but other than that it feels like a new car
What's most practical about your car?
Starts first time, everytime, cruises all day long like it was made to cover enormous distances, seats are as comfy as an armchair and adjust every which way, and the boot is huge
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Hard to choose- I reckon the SAT NAV/TV/Radio/CD autochanger, but the climate control is great, always loved the rear electric blind which had no purpose until the recent arrival of my baby son- keeps the sun off him
