Economy
Value
Depreciation disaster. High servicing costs £300 typical for every other service, insurance costs good, economy miles away from indicative figures.
Costs
Servicing again higher than Lexus, BMw and Audi in some instances, without the reliability. Quoted £100 + gas for air con re-gas after car is only 12 months, tracking price at main dealer quoted £79, brakepads £100...

On the road
Driving
Comfortable ride, diffcult to get a good driving position.
Performance
CDT underpowered from initial acceleration, fine for motorway cruising, boring and hard work to make any progress on country roads where tractors become a major frustration.

Living with it
Reliability
Trim falls off door panels, electrical problems beyond comprehension, 45k / 18 month old car - 3 navigation systems, 2 engine management systems, replacement battery, computer board failure, driver computer 2 recalls. Car is in the garage all the time.
Image
Reasonable, though slashed sales prices make it not much better than a Mondeo in status and wihtout the reliability but with prestige car servicing costs.
Comfort
Seats, environment good, premium hi-fi no better than thatin a Focus, definitely not a BOSE equivalent!

Security and Service
Security
Ok, no problems.
Service
Dealers struggle to solve problems. Almost took it to BMW in exasperation, very costly, don't return phone calls - worst service I have encountered anywhere. I tried numerous dealerships and incompetence across the board.

Problems and Ownership

Electrical problems with almost every component on the car. Rover dealers are not trained on this judging by my experience and heaven help anyone who has problems with electrics, especially sat nav systems.
