Rover 75 Tourer (2004 - 2005) 2.0 CDTi Connoisseur SE 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The model I purchased new is a Connoisseur CDTI SE Tourer [ Estate ] (With SE ‘pack’) - so basically ALL the nice “knobs & whistles” MG Rover were making available in 2005 came with this vehicle. My latest acquisition is a a “Contemporary” version of the same car registered in the same month & year. The ‘Contemporary’ models were MG R’s attempt to modernise (mainly) the interior in the hope that it might appeal to the younger generation who might choose a BMW, Mercedes or Audi etc. Unfortunately it was just all too late. Management had squandered the cash bequeathed to them when BMW parted company with this - the last British volume car manufacturer. My wife has a pre-facelift Connoisseur Tourer & my only saloon is a wonderful SE Connoisseur fitted with the American 4601 cc V8 ‘Mustang’ engine. Now adapted to run on LPG without any noticeable loss-of-performance, it’s affordable to drive.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Absolutely fabulous car. Best one I’ve ever owned by far. A joy to possess from new - so much so that I’ve now bought 3 more; each one different & each one a delight. There’s NO car currently on the market new that I’d prefer to own & drive. A FUTURE CLASSIC.? Nonsense - they’re ‘classics’ NOW. PRBAbout their car
