    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

This was my 5th 800, my 2nd MkII. In total, I have logged more than 500,000 miles in this model and have always found them to be a grossly under-rated car.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not exactly a "hot" car, but all except the diesel will cruise happily all day at the ton, and the Vitesse will do nearly 150 mph!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Like any car, you take care of it and it takes care of you.

Many people sniff at the Rover because it's a Rover, but many also comment on how nice it is once they climb aboard. Like those who would disparage the 75 for no sensible reason, they usually have little or no idea what they're talking about.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Seats slightly on the soft side, but the driving position is very good and almost infinitely adjustable.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Deadlocking, immobiliser, motion sensors and alarm all standard across the range after 1996.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

    not used
