Rover 800 Fastback 827 Sterling 5d Auto (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Must be the ""Best Kept Secret"" in British motoring. The French & Spanish love 'em.
Costs
For the Honda 2.7 litre engine, oil & filter every 6 k miles is all I ever did… oh yes, and top up the wiper reservoir.
-
On the road
Driving
Top of the range, electric seats, cruise, auto… Ideal long distance cruiser.
Performance
In S4 Auto mode, not a lot could touch this car, but with all the speed cameras around, I don't boy race anymore.
-
Living with it
Reliability
I've had 3 x 2.7's over the past 5 years and only ever did a Cam Belt/Pump change, & a few brake pads...total reliablility.
Image
NOT a BMW, but then it's 5 times less expensive.
Comfort
Like driving in a sofa. Hey, I love my sofa.

Security and Service
Security
No problems here.
Service
Spare parts of trivial items recently underwent a manufacturer change, which caused supply problems. Plenty of parts in your local scrappies, mind you.
