Rover 800 Saloon (1991 - 2000) 825 Si 4d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I bought my Rover 825 2.5 V6 SI auto (1999-reg) new in 2007 and would still have it now if some idiot hadn't written it off for me in 2015. The later 800s had the problematic KV6 engine and like them all mine had problems, though once it had new bits and was regularly serviced by me it ran like a dream and rarely had problems. The engine itself was amazing. Performance was excellent as was the acceleration, left most modern cars for dust! It also handled really well in all kinds of weather, hence the police used them. Inside they offered comfort and luxury. The Rover radio cassette had a nice sound and tone to it and the auto-box was smooth as well. On a long journey the velour seats weren't too bad, though stopping to stretch was needed if you were doing 300+ miles.
It was the sort of car which you could rely on and trust to get you not just A-B but A-Z as well. In good well looked after condition these cars could take you anywhere, plenty of power, comfort and wasn't too thirsty either - depending on how you drove it of course ;) They were also nice looking cars, more modern than the SD1 but still classic compared to the bins you see today... Before mine was written off it was turning heads every time it went out and had 247,000 genuine miles on the clock and still drove like it had only done 47,000... I have no doubt in my mind that it could and would have done triple that had it been given the chance.
If your thinking of buying an 800 then don't delay. They are fantastic cars and you will not regret getting one.
