Rover CityRover 1.4 Style 5d (2005/54) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Did not pay full price if I had I would say 1. Service every 6000 miles will cost you. Rover garages can charge any price they like because there at not many left.
Costs
As above eats fuel but does not shift fast enough for 1.4litres. Front wheels are fast to wear out.
-
On the road
Driving
Motorway noise unacceptable, suspension too stiff, steering wheel massive, stupid dash layout and terrible vibrations at high speed.
Performance
As above, like a scooter.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Sometimes would not start. Many dash warning lights come and go as they please.
Image
There are worse cars to look at but Rover is not cool.
Comfort
You have to take your eyes of the road for a while to make sure it is not a lottery as to if you press front or rear fogs and read window heater or wiper. The window buttons are nearly unreachable.

Security and Service
Security
The locks bust within a few weeks of brand new. For some reason you cannot lock the car within 30 seconds of removing the key from ignition.
Service
Terrible, could not care attitude.

There are better lawn mower engines.

Also electric windows messed up from start, rear view mirror falling off and I could not get the wheels off. Air con made a clicking sound and dripped water inside the car. Many other things were starting to show signs of rapid deterioration.
Ownership
