Rover Metro 1.1 C 3d (1991/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Great first car - Cheap to buy and maintain.
Costs
Great on petrol. Can run for miles! However, spent £375 getting it welded underneath last year and am faced with same cost this year - time to move on I think... sob...

On the road
Driving
Only four gears, but runs great. Bit noisy at high speed. Great for the city. Easy to park!
Performance
Can go when it wants to. Bit slow in the mornings.

Living with it
Reliability
Old battery caused problems and rear brakes noisey while driving. (Not a standard fault I'm sure...)
Image
Haha - I love my metro, but all I see driving them are old ladies out on thier shopping run... They are so cool...!
Comfort
Great. Feel a bit stiff after a long drive, though.

Security and Service
Security
Someone did try and break in by jamming a crowbar in the passenger door, but was scared away by the alarm I have fitted (not standard on this model, I understand).

Problems and Ownership

Engine
No problems.
