Value
Paid £2,500 in Dec 2001, one gentlemen owner, 9,500 miles on the clock. Has sailed through all MOTs, but watch out on the emissions!
Costs
All parts for the car have been cheap and readily available from suppliers. I have found it difficult however to get metro bits at scrap yards.

On the road
Driving
The driving experience is what you would expect with a metro. It is a small, older car so lacks the acceleration that the modern day equivalent has. I thought the engine noise was relatively quiet compared with cars of similar age and size.
Performance
Very economic car. It is a little slow off the mark when cold, but very responsive once warmed up. Again due to age and 4-speed gearbox, don't expect to be winning any rallies with it.

Starts first time every time, come rain or shine!

Metallic turquoise paint gives the car a real look. With a tin of 'Back to Black' on the bumpers and good condition wheel trims I think the car can hold its own.
Comfort
Getting into the car can be difficult especially into the back. I personally, have found the driving seat extremely comfy and have travelled long distances without feeling stiff or restless.

Security
Have been broken into twice. They are very easy to break into, however due to their simplicity very easy to fix. Very dependent on where the car is parked and what stereo you have in it!

No interaction with Rover Dealer.

Engine
No problems. Only topped up oil once or twice!
Other
The resistors that control the speed of the heater within the car burnt out, and so the fastest setting was the only speed that worked. However can be fixed for a decent price.
