Rover Metro 1.4 16V GTi 3d (1990/G) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap parts compared to other makes, but don't go direct to Rover.
Costs
Fairly economical if not driven too hard. Low insurance group for a GTi model.
-
On the road
Performance
Very quick on acceleration and not bad top speed. Handles like a go-kart in the dry, but tends to understeer a bit when wet.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Cooling systems on Metros are as unreliable as they come!
Image
Ok I suppose. GTi looks quite sporty.
Comfort
Comfortable bucket seats in the front, but can be a bit bumpy on knackered bits of road.

Security and Service
Security
Central locking as standard seems ok, but apparently they're easily broken into.
Service
Rover dealerships don't want to know when it comes to Metros and they'll rip you off anyway.
