Rover Streetwise (2003 - 2005) 2.0TD SE (101ps) 5d (04) Owner Review

In their own words
Powerful diesel engine with very good mpg. However, the engine is very rough and course (very old perkins engine tech), lots of vibration and noise in to the cabin.
Very noticeable turbo lag which can become a little annoying around town. Although provides very quick acceleration and excellent power on the motorway.
On a trip to the highland I noticed that it lacked power on the uphill sections of motorways and had to change down gears, this proved to be a broken MAF sensor. I picked new one up off eBay for £30, it was a very quick and easy change (like changing the air filter), after that it was very fast and torqey.
Good, small footprint, but feels a bit bigger because of raised ride height.
Interior does feel quite clunky, and there are a few really dated bits that really showed the cars age, even when it would have been new.
Seat are very comfortable and supportive. Steering wheel is very nice and thick, although the stereo controls are in an odd place and difficult to use on the wheel.
If you don't mind older, clunky and very dated interiors with a bit of an agricultural feel these are a very good buy and understated.
Great of you can pick up a cheap one. Very popular in Paris back in the day.
Furthermore, if you need a light use, small van, just fold the seats and get some cheap very dark limo tints for the rear seats and you have a good option - this is nearly what I did with mine.
