Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,500
When did you buy the car?
March 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Great part ex on a 12 year.old SLK and even added 6 months tax. This was all done over the phone as garage was 212 miles from home. Cars in the north are often £2000 -£4000 cheaper than the South East.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
More room.
What was the dealer like?
Very Good.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Auto is very smooth and despite criticism of the GM unit car performs well and is smooth. had a number of diesels in the past and this unit is smooth and quiet with a good pulling ability -fast.
What's it like to park?
As stated parking sensors a must as it is a large car, clearly aimed for the USA.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
There is a known fault with the SID regarding 'oil in the diesel', have had it disconnected. Car was cheap as service history could have been better, so had a major service /cam belt/water pump after 2 months (my choice) as vehicle was on 58000 at purchase being an 09 plate. Have had no problems.
What's most practical about your car?
More space in the cabin than the SLK but the boot is not as good. MPG around 35-50 dependent on usage. It is a large car so the parking sensors are a must.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated seats and the ease of roof operation. Have the paneled leather seats which are superb comfort and look great.
