Saab 9-3 Coupe 2.0i 3d (1998/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Lots of car for the money, but try and get a decent part exchange price when you come to change! Very disappointing.
Costs
Heavy depreciation. Expensive to service at main agent. Poor fuel ecomony.

On the road
Driving
Even 2.0i is very lively! Suspension hugely improved over GM 900 - a very fine cruiser.
Performance
Smooth power delivery and holds the road very well. No complaints.

Living with it
Reliability
Disappointing! Problems with gear selector, failed heater controls, glovebox doesn't close properly, rattles in the cabin and questionable reports from onboard computer (already changed once!)
Image
It's a Saab - you love them (I hope this is justified again in the future) or you don't. Prestige, beyond the conventional!
Comfort
Great seats, pleasant cabin, good CD player, aircon, generally quiet and refined.

Security and Service
Security
Seems excellent.
Service
Service and Parts at Saab Manchester are very difficult to contact by phone. Even when I've gone in I've frequently been kept waiting for extended periods! Not good enough given the competition!
