Saab 9-3 Coupe 2.0i SE 3d (1998/S) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent value used - a fraction of similar BMWs, etc.
Costs
Hefty insurance and fuel consumption. Stiff dealer charges.
-
On the road
Driving
Poor to drive. Wallows through corners, no feel through steering and dire ride quality in town.
Performance
Good overtaking ability, excellent high-speed cruiser.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Starts ok, but dodgy electrics.
Image
Not quite the prestige of a BMW, but none of the negative associations either.
Comfort
Seats excellent on long journeys and cabin fairly quiet. Spoiled by ride quality in town.

Alarm/immobiliser, deadlocks and unique-fit stereo.
Service
Dealer service is good, but at the price, it should be.
