Economy
Value
Although other owners seemed to have suffered, my 9-3 has been absolutely faultless. Lots of car and kit for your money, and something a bit different. I have also avoided large service bills, averaging about £200.
Costs
Fine. Cars cost money, and this one hasn't cost me any more than the Golf I had before, despite being older and higher mileage.

On the road
Driving
A little sloppy, but it is a reasonably heavy and large car. Extremely relaxing, however, and excellent on the motorway.
Performance
For a diesel, very good. Lots of usable torque and fantastic motorway pick-up.

Living with it
Reliability
Has never missed a beat over 30,000 miles and all weathers.
Image
So subjective, but I like Saab and their image. Possibly being diluted by the newer saloon, but still good.
Comfort
Absolutely fantastic. The most comfortable car I have owned (inc. Audi, VW, Alfa).

Security and Service
Security
Seems about on par with others in class and age-range.
Service
Service has been excellent polite dealers, courtesy cars, regular magazine, servicing discount card and more. Infinitely better (in my experience) than rival German brands.
