Summary
What does this car say about you?
I fell for the looks
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Generally like it, but it doesn't turn heads any more
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. I would NEVER buy another Saab. This was my first and last. Shame really as it looks good and drives well - just rips off your back pocket every six months or so.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably something from a reliable manufacturer with high customer care standards - probably a Skoda
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£15,995
When did you buy the car?
August 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Think so. Just knocked £3000 off price and two others werte after the same car
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Looked a good used buy with lots of kit and good styling
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful - until I'd bought it then needed pushing
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Good. There's always enough speed but the turbo drag at low speed can lead to scary moments pulling out onto fast roads
What's it like to park?
No problem with rear sensors
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Lots. The inlet manifold is loose (Saab won't recall or offer anything towards the costs), the flywhhel rattles, the re-circ motor is noisy, the trim is peeling and the build quality is generally average. It will cost £2800 to keep on the road so it's going
What's most practical about your car?
Very very comfortable and eats motorway miles, but wind seems a bit noisy at speed.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Has to be the voice operated controls
