Saab 9-3 Saloon (2002 - 2011) 1.9D Vector Sport (150bhp) 4d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
The 93 was one of the best (if not the best) diesel saloons to buy in it's prime (when the 150bhp 1.9TiD succeeded the 120bhp 2.2D around 2005), and it makes for an excellent pick on the second hand market despite being out of production, as under the 93's skin it's mostly a Vectra, so parts will never be hard to come by, whilst looking leagues ahead of its poor cousin aesthetically. The interior is of a comparably high quality, half leather works perfectly here with the central parts of the seats being fabric so no need to worry about overly hot/cold bottoms! Ride quality is quite soft, so it lends itself to relaxed cruising rather than sporty cornering. The Vector variants hit a nice sweet spot of good base equipment versus cost which the Aero variants don't really meaningfully improve upon, and the Linear variants lack almost all creature comforts making them somewhat lackluster by comparison. Take care of them, and they'll take care of you, the 93 ages exceptionally well. Overall, a great looking comfortable saloon, definitely recommended for what it is.
How reliable do you find the car?
Being a 12 year old car, takes a little to get started in sub zero temperatures if it isn't used regularly, but that could be said of almost every car in those circumstances.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Purchased as a sensible diesel to eat up some motorway miles in relative comfort, does the job superbly while looking better than a Ford/Vauxhall of the same age.About their car
