Saab 9-3 Saloon 2.0T Aero 4d (2004/53) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Not bad. To get the same spec and excitement from BMW, Audi or Merc you would pay a premium of a few grand.
Costs
Expensive servicing, but only bi-annually so works out OK.
-
On the road
Driving
Superb handling and responsiveness.
Performance
Great engine, big turbo means a long lag, but when it kicks in, especially in 2nd, there aren't many things on the road that will keep up.

Living with it
Reliability
Big problems with the 6-speed box. Surfacing on a lot of 2-3 year old cars (30000) miles onwards.
Image
Gorgeous car that is less common than 3 series/A4s qall over the roads.
Comfort
Aero sports suspension is firm, but relatively comfortable. Not a comfort cruiser by any means.
-
Security and Service
Security
Factory fitted alarm and immobiliser. No experience of any problems.
Service
Best service I have ever known from a main dealer. Excellent, no-quibbles service, event he smallest things are put right under warranty without question.
