Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm individual enough to not want a German car like everyone else, I like understated style.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Impressed, it still looks good after 5 years.
Would you buy this car again and why?
maybe, if so it'd be the 1.9ttdi for better fuel economy; and the wife loves the convertable although my golf clubs would not fit in the boot, but i'd consider another.
What are you likely to buy next?
either a diesel 9-3 or a Jaguar 2.2 X-type estate.
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,999
When did you buy the car?
January 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, they had the wrong price on the internet, so I bargained to that price (£6999) rather than the £7999 that was on the car; got a stonking deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Always wanted a Saab, wanted to get a 'smaller' car than my Jaguar S-Type but still keep some sense of style and luxury.
What was the dealer like?
Big and uncaring once we had bought the car, but I got some things done under warranty such as faulty traction control without too many problems; but nowhere near the level of service I had from Jaguar.
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
very good, although the bigger alloys do tramline on rougher roads; definately a sporty drive.
What's it like to park?
Easy with rear parking sensors.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The Traction Control, was the main thing, a sensor on the steering was playing up; done under warranty but since then nothing.
What's most practical about your car?
very ergonomic, probably the best long distance car I've owned. good access to rear too.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Dual Zone Climate, saves me and the wife falling out.
