Saab 9-5 Estate (1999 - 2005) 2.2 TiD Arc 5d Owner Review

These cars are now very hard to find with low mileage on the sterlingly reliable chain-cam 2.2 diesel. Bought mine August 2018 with just 77k from a SAAB specialist. Since purchasing this car I have rapidly added more than 20,000 miles, and can report that as with all my other previously owned SAAB's, the car has been simply brilliant at reliability, and on those long runs on both motorway and A road, with 5 adults, a dog and a wheelchair plus luggage. Never feel tired upon arrival of even journeys of 500 miles or more. This is my 3rd 9-5, which has now spanned my SAAB ownership of the brilliantly engineered 9-5 to 16 years.(& an additional 17 years of owning a classic 900 & a 9000 Aero). The only downside is knowing that they don't build these amazing cars anymore, which means that at some point I will need to look to another make. Of which I have owned all the rivals, Audi, Merc, Beamer etc, but they have none of the character of these Swedish beauties!!!
